I'd give the campground 3 stars, but the reservoir 5 stars. The campsites are too close for comfort or even a bit of privacy, but the scenery is beautiful and the water is clear and not too cold to swim in during the Summer.
One of my fav camp spots. Been a few yrs since I've been here, and it did not disappoint. Beautiful as ever. There was a campground full sign, but it's Tuesday, I doubt it. Made our way down the 4 mi road that takes u into the campground. (Watch for the many large potholes on this road.) Just as I thought, the campground wasn't full. All the sites at the boat launch area were available. The water situation has been fixed, and is drinkable. There are 2 dumpsters and the bathrooms had plenty of TP and were acceptable. Didn't see the camp host (if there is one) or a ranger. The water temp was cool and clear. The place was quiet and relaxing. It's a gem!!
Beautiful place, but can get crowded on the weekend and be noisy (generators, dirt bikes music). Has vault toilets, and a few water taps. Good fishing, lake access boat launch close by. Great place to kayak and paddle board. Camping is first come first served, if you claim a spot and don't sleep there the first night you will get a fine $1,000.00
