We were there on holiday days and office was closed, so not much could be done. Website allowed me to make a reservation, yet once at the park those spots were taken. Front gate has a code which was never sent. Website should be fixed/updated. We had to drive around and look for open spots, some of the open spots did not have electricity going. Do appreciate Gerry trying to help over the phone. Gerry was very friendly. Otherwise, place was clean and quiet.
Mesa Sunset is a great little RV park. They've recently updated all of their amenities, and everything is very nice very well done. The park is located near the Superstition Mountains and has quick access to all that the Superstitions have to offer. All of the staff at the park are very friendly and helpful. Whenever we had a question or an issue, Angel was more than helpful. This park is nice and clean and welcomes all ages. They'd have food trucks and other events on occasion. If you're looking for a clean, safe, and affordable rv park that is kid and pet friendly, then Mesa Sunset is the RV resort you're looking for.
This campground is tight. We stayed here mid May 2023. We have a 43 foot toy hauler. I specifically called and asked if we would fit in the max 40 ft site because often times there is wiggle room. The lady on the phone said yeah you should be fine, so I booked.
We arrive, yes there was a lot of construction - doesn’t bother me. The gate posts were being installed so the gate code wasn’t a problem for our trip. BUT, we drive to our spot because there are no signs showing where office is, and there is no way I can fit. So I drive around, guessing where an office is. A lady on the harley, luckily was leaving and said we look lost. It was Angel, she was super nice. I explained the gal on phone said we should fit, she said there’s no way. She made some calls to get us in a permanent person’s spot that was out for a little while. Downfall to this, the power had to be turned on the next morning. Getting the power turned on took longer than I would like. We had our 5 month old with us and it was 106 degrees that day. Power got turned on around 10am which took me calling multiple times. Angel apologized and understood but we won’t be staying here again. It just seems like a cluster, permanent residents were trashy and gross, the campground is way to small to back in a 43-45 ft (which you claim fits) into perpendicular spots.
If Angel wasn’t leaving and thought we looked lost, who knows what we would have done while being 8 hours from home. Glad we weren’t 5 minutes after.
Review from a long-term resident: It's really difficult to find a good RV park in the east valley! From our experience most other all ages parks around here have 1 of the following: reliable/working utilities, friendly/supportive park managers, or a reasonable price. This park has all 3! We couldn't recommend this park enough!
From our experience the utilities are quite reliable for an RV park of this size. As far as utility outages, most parks tend to have outages due to poor maintenance. But the outages in this park are often due to system upgrades or minor, concentrated outages from residential mis-use.
As other people have noted there has been construction at this park, they recently re-did all of their community spaces. The shower room is very nice: clean, bright, with nice cold AC in the hot summer months, with private showers that are ADA friendly. The pool was also recently remodeled and is larger and quite clean and family friendly as well. Pool deck features large (5 ft max depth) pool, 3 foot depth hot tub (hot year around), numerous lounge chairs, end tables, table & chairs, misters, and cool decking throughout.
The clubhouse now features a very well lit and cleanly community spaces with games, a fully functional community kitchen (really nice, full sized oven & ice maker too). There's also large amount of tables/chairs for gathering and community wide events. They also have a large smart TV with couches and lounging area, as well as a laundry room. Music is often playing in the clubhouse throughout the day for residents enjoyment. Inside the clubhouse a small gym with 2 treadmills, stationary bike, an elliptical, and multi-use weight machine, bench with free weights & weighted medicine balls.
Community spaces around the outside of the clubhouse and pool areas include: corn hole, propane fire pits, propane grills, table tennis/ping pong table, foosball table with ample tables & chairs for outdoor gatherings.
On site management (Angel & Michelle) are very friendly, respectful, and low drama. Both Angel and Michelle take community & park safety concerns very seriously.
We were skeptical about staying here due to the poor ratings but to our surprise, the past 2 months we have been here- Angel and Michelle have gone above and beyond their duties. They have helped us secure a nice spot here in this 5 STAR 🌟 RV Resort! It is welcoming, secure, has great amenities and a monthly news letter with a calendar full of activities for ALL ages! I couldn't have asked for a better staff to help us out.
