Beautiful area to camp, however, once it's dark, the bugs become mini demons/Dracula..
Silo Area Access is a riverside primitive camping area with designated campsites, fire rings, and a boat ramp. The area is owned and operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Louis District Rivers Project and is open 24/7.
Great spot next to the Mississippi River.
10+ rv sites as well as the boat ramp.
Looks recently improved. RV sites have lights to mark them
We bought a camper and wanted to do a test run before hitting the road. We stayed 2 nights early December 2023. The campground does not have electricity, water or bath… you are essentially boondocking at a really nicely kept COE facility. While there a Ranger came by and a cleaning team walk around picking up trash people left… come on people, pick up your trash!
Anyway, it’s great place to stay. However, December is duck season so lots of gun shot noises. Besides that, it was a perfect stay.
