We had never been to Lake of Ozarks before. We stayed at the Lakeside cabin with a great view of the docks and lake. The owners were very nice and so was everyone there. Especially our neighbor who lives in the park, John and his dog Toby. We went for a girls weekend and had a great time! The only thing I would suggest is maybe posting the times of the opening and closing of the pool on the rules before you enter the pool. We had just started a board game on a table within the pool area when we were asked to leave by a couple that works there. When we asked if we could maybe stay a few minutes because we were the only 3 people in the pool area. He replied by saying no and they are actually thinking of closing the pool permanently because of how many people have been jumping the fence after it is closed. A bit of advice, if you close that pool permanently you will lose clientele especially families with children and money. Just post the opening and closing times so people know that information, maybe even make it 10 pm for closing which is a pretty standard time for the hospitality industry to close pools. FYI, pool opens around 9:00am and closes at exactly 9pm.
This place was awesome and had a great feel with very friendly and inviting people. It had everything we needed for a great extended 4th July weekend. We chose the Deluxe Cabin and it was a great fit for us. We had two families and we just used the provided futon and aired up a mattress for the kids. The adults had their own space also. It was clean and you had A/C in every room making it awesome for the hot days.
We also enjoyed that they had covered boat slips available when staying there. Also had a boat ramp.
The kids enjoyed having the pool and playground and horseshoes. Everything seem to be surrounding the Deluxe Cabin and still close to all other cabins. It was well laid out and we had a great time.
The owner of the grounds is a super nice guy and was very helpful along with Judy that is also a great helpful nice lady. We appreciated everything she did for us. The owner was also driving around handing out ice cream sandwiches so the kids loved that.
GREAT PLACE - Check it out!
Love this place. Stayed there twice so far. It is impeccably clean and Gail is awesome. It was extremely convenient renting a pontoon and going to the camp site to load it up instead of lugging all of yourstuff with you you. The pool was very refreshing at the end of the day.
Please read if you are bringing motorcycles! Overall nice campground. The gravel road down to the campground from the asphalt is a bit steep and the road is like a washboard. Needs to be graded. We had hoped to ride our motorcycles, but after driving back up from the campground, we didn't want to risk it. We are very experienced riders.
The caming spots are very tight. They are about 12-15 ft wide. With our awning out, our chairs were next to the neighboring spots post. The pool closed Tuesday after Labor Day. There is no campground wide WiFi. Their website leads you to believe there is. If you are close to the office, there is WiFi. Cell service is very poor due to the location of the campground. There are many seasonal campers there. Don't expect a quiet campground. The owners were very quick to respond to a problem our neighbor had with the electric on the post. Fire
Wood and ice are available for a fee.
