You may follow your GPS to 131 Redwood Road, Salmon Idaho (23 miles south of the city of Salmon on Hwy 93) until you reach the turn onto Iron Creek Road at the Bridge. Once you turn onto the bridge (one lane) follow the road to your left as it turns into Old Stage Road. In order to avoid troubling our neighbors, please stay on the paved Old Stage Road until you reach Bluebird Circle and turn left (dirt road-please keep speed to under 10 mph). Bluebird Circle dead ends at Redwood Road. Turn right. You will see our house and the mini donkeys first, but travel just a few feet further and you will see the four car parking lot. Follow the gravel path to your wagon or glamping tent. It is self check-in but we will be around if you need us.
It's the Perfect little Getaway with Charm!!!
Love the whole look of the wagon inside and out. The cute common area around the wagons and near the river. Perfect for a relaxing stop on my trip to reset.
The snack basket and breakfast that the host provides is Perfect! The breakfast burrito tasted Delicious and loved the cute bottle the orange juice came in.
I can't wait to come back on another trip and try out a different themed wagon!!
My husband booked a wagon as part of a birthday trip for me (amazing guy!). The location is fantastic along the river, close to Goldbug, Salmon and the Frank Church Wilderness. The wagon was in lovely shape, fridge and kitchen were stocked with breakfast and coffee. Truly a great accomodation, clean, comfortable, quiet.
Unfortunately, I am taking off two stars for my review because of two reasons. If you look at my review history, I tend to leave very positive reviews for places. I just can't get past two things, which can be summed up as feeling like an economically necessary inconvenience, rather than a welcome guest. 1) The wagon is full of little notes telling you exactly what to do or not do. Directions for preserving the linens in particular felt like using them was at your own risk of getting fined for damaging them through normal use. Also note you are asked to wash, dry, and put away dishes upon check-out, which is not what I would expect for the price and somewhat risky for quality of clean. 2) We were met by the host twice and both times we felt unwelcome. The first time, we arrived before check-in and were simply told to come back after 4. No asking who we were, helping us find our wagon, etc. The second time, we had checked by finding our wagon and we met the host on our way back to the car. We were essentially chewed out for driving down the wrong street (the dirt road Google tells you to go down, instead of the paved road which is a longer route) and raising dust and accused of speeding.
My girlfriend Sarah and I stayed here back in December. We stayed in the green gypsy wagon. This place is so amazing and I can’t even begin to explain how amazing this place is. Right on the water, super cozy, shower, kitchenette, warm, super cozy bed, intimate setting, and I cannot wait to come back. The breakfast that the extremely kind owners provided was so awesome. I absolutely love everything about this place and would give it 10 stars if I could. Please stay here. You are missing out if you don’t.
I was on my way thru Idaho and found this place very last minute. I was able to get in touch with them pretty quickly despite being so late in the day and they were able to get me a room in such short notice. Place has an amazing location and great layout by the river. Plus side is that this place is cheaper than most hotels in Salmon, ID so I was glad to save the $20-40.
It is right along the river so it has a gorgeous view. The wagons have been done very nicely. They are charming and well put together and decorated. No TV since you are out in the middle of nature. They do have games you can use. I was not there long enough to meet the donkeys. It was a very peaceful, fun, beautiful, great stay. The breakfast was delicious. The whole stay, from booking to our departure was great and easy. I loved it!
