The Rushmore View RV campground is a classic, but small full-service campground along Grizzly Creek in Keystone, SD. Adjacent to the Magnuson Grand Rushmore View hotel, with views of Mount Rushmore from the main parking lot and check-in area. This quiet park is walking distance to shopping, restaurants, and attractions. Amenities include a convenience store, gas station and guest laundry adjacent to the park. Open for the camping season of the Black Hills mountain range (typically late May to early October). Our pet-friendly summertime RV park offers full hookups in all sites, pull-through or back-in, shaded sites and satellite friendly. Built in the days when RV’ing was car-camping and compact motorhomes, most sites are short and close together. We do have a few long 50amp sites that easily accommodate modern RVs.
From Mount Rushmore National Monument drive 1.7 miles north-east on US-16A toward Keystone.
From downtown Keystone drive 0.5 miles south-west on US-16A toward Mt. Rushmore
We stayed in our 5th wheel here for 2 nights. Location is very quiet which is a huge plus for me (light sleeper). Campground is vey small and tight. We had a pull through site and our 35’ camper just fit. Bath house facilities need an upgrade.
We had nothing but trouble getting here and the patrons were so far above and beyond accommodating lost our camper on the way helped us with accommodations in a neighboring hotel room no pets but allowed our service dog which is family. THANK YOU once again. God blessed us sending us your way🙏
We had reservations to camp here for 2 nights. Sadly we found the restroom/shower to be very unkept. First shower I tried was plugged and water quickly covered my ankles. The 2nd shower had the molding separating from the shower at the base allowing water to be trapped that appeared stagnant. The shower curtains were moldy and dirty. The trash overflowed and nothing seemed to be cleaned during our stay. At the completion of this 3 week trip we will have passed through 13 states and camped in RV parks along the way. This was by far the most disappointing.
We are so glad we ended up choosing this spot for our one night stay to visit Mt. Rushmore. From our initial phone call to see if there was availability (spoke with Moose, who was AMAZING!) to the super and helpful gal, Jamie, at the Checkin desk to the great recommendations of spots to check out by Marshall, our entire stay was lovely. The kindness of the staff was top notch and a quick 6 min drive to Mt. Rushmore.
The RV spots (15-18) are a bit of a tight squeeze but we made it work.
This is a unique RV park and not “luxurious” necessarily, but super convenient and great service!! If you choose to stay here and get the pleasure of meeting Moose, tell him Claire sent ya! 😁
