An abundance of very beautiful fire agate specimens. Very pretty lush land full of flowers and butterflies. I thoroughly enjoyed my time in this beautiful place.
Great place for Fire Agates! Google maps has this location listed correctly 100% There are signs as well that make it easy. The loop road seems pretty worked out inside the loop. We worked outside the loop roads and came up with a good haul of rosettes and fire agates. No Cell Signal unless you climb one of the hills. We found agates all along the road from the first sign where you turn left. Very expansive quantity here! The further you get from the road the better you do! I will be back!
A great place to hike and find cool rocks. The agates are literally everywhere. The only down side is the road is not that great don't go down it wilt less the a real 4 wheel drive vehicle. When it rains the roads can be washed in some places. But otherwise a great place. If you want to work on host rock definitely need sledgehammer, chisels, and possibly other power tools to make the hole in the rock to get the chisels in.
Great place to Rockhound for fire agates. Easy to follow directions but don’t recommend it unless you have a high clearance truck/car. Long 6 miles f narrow crater filled dirt road.
