The campsite sits above Rose Lake with an obstructed view of the lake and a short path down to the lake. It is sheltered by trees all around.
Above Rose Lake, directly off the trail, It is 1.83 miles east of Stairway Portage or 0.65 miles west of the Rose Lake (east) camp.
The western cliffs are some of the finest views in the Midwest. The water is incredibly clear and the campgrounds are also very nice. Overall, this place is gorgeous and I will be going again. A friend and I hiked the Border Route Trail and this was by far the highlight of the trip. Next time we will be canoeing to see the views from a different perspective. 10/10
