This is a windsurfing shop run by a pretty cool guy. He has been wind surfing since 1981, and seems to run the shop single handedly. You can knock on the door to see if he is home, but it sounded like he was a busy man. There isn't really a sign out front to mark this as a shop, but he has quite a few boards and rigs by the sound of it that he was looking to sell.

Fantastic experience. Mike was more than accommodating and gave my wife a great lesson of the area with good places to explore with his kayaks. Highly recommend.

We had a fantastic experience renting three kayaks from Mike at Gone With the Wind Rentals! We rented kayaks locally last year also with a different company, which gave us much less time with a greater expense. We will continue to rent now with Mike in the future! You get the full deal with his services, including teaching paddling techniques, explanation of the region you’re launching from, as well as safety techniques of how to flip the kayak back if you were to fall off. We’ve never had this level of detail explained to us with previous companies, it’s quite obvious he’s passionate about the outdoors and wants others to enjoy it too! Highly recommend! Thanks Mike!

Biddeford Pool launch on Friday. Mike is very knowledgeable and took time to carefully explain & demonstrate proper kayak operation, including tip overs. Would definitely rent from him again!

We rented two kayaks from Mike and he met us at the Marblehead Boat Launch (ample parking, bathrooms) so we could kayak up the Saco River. Mike is an exceptional person with extensive knowledge of kayaking. He is the type of person who will find out what you know, trust you know it, and add to your knowledge so you can have even more enjoyment out on the water. He does as other reviewers have said get himself over waist high in the water to demo how to get back onto a flipped kayak - above and beyond what I’ve seen any other kayak rental do and we have been out in sea kayaks with rudders. Based on our experience I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend a guided tour with him to improve your kayaking skills even if or perhaps especially if you already love to kayak. We enjoyed our paddle on the river and saw two different sturgeon jump completely out of the water, plenty of cormorants, and even a small waterfall. No regrets, just egrets! Highly recommend.
