Milemarker 98 (Key Largo) and look in the center of the highway for Ballyhoos Fish Restaurant, left across the median and we are opposite on the ocean side of the highway.
Recently visited my son and his family in Key Largo. Honestly was so excited as the pictures they had shared were so beautiful.
He had his camper at a spot in this “Resort/Harbor” terms used loosely!! Driving into this resort, it’s like a construction zone. Pieces of large heavy equipment random items old, new, operable, non operable everywhere.
Rock pads, sites on top of each other, no parking to speak of. Boat dock side is nicer and it is obvious that the pics used to advertise come from this view inward to mask the reality. Amenities, laundry small facility on site but costly. Not much else there! Some characters that are long term tenants! This spot was $$$$$, pics are deceiving read reviews, research before making your choice. Owners are shady and after the all mighty dollar!
Last year we stayed here for about 5 nights in a small 5th wheel. Our site was oceanfront and the views of the water were spectacular. We had absolutely no issues whatsoever. Alana was most accommodating which makes the bad reviews questionable, I guess it’s each to their own. We’re not fancy people and this campground is not fancy, but our stay was great. I wish we could have stayed longer. This year we have a camper van and I hope Alana will have room for us and our pups again oceanfront.
All I will say is no, never again. My wife booked our stay and we will never go back. Staff was rude and condescending. We left early because we had a karen next to us complain because our cat liked to lay in the window and look out . She complained to the park that our 6 pound cat was looking into her rv and spying on her. I was told that we had to close our shades so our cat could not see her rv and upset her.
The absolute worst experience I’ve ever had at a campground. I’ve traveled all across the country for work, and this is by far the most selfish 2 people I have ever encountered. I have voice recordings and text messages to prove the kind of nasty people Sam and Alana are. The guests are mostly all very good people, but the view, unless you are parked in the marina area, is terrible. Construction, trash, equipment, just not something you want to wake up to everyday. They also charged us double what the electric company charged them per kilowatt and taxed it on top of that. Sam is a career criminal so I wouldn’t expect anything less. When we moved in we were supposed to be able to stay until our job ended with a 30 day departure notice. Once our 6 months came to an end we were supposed to be tax free. Instead we were told we could pay and additional $1500 deposit, sign a 60 day departure notice, and pay $3500 a month. The best part of this campground was seeing it in my rear view mirror as I was leaving. Please do your research. These people are money hungry and don’t care about your or your family.
Staying long term at Blue Fin RV Park and decided they deserve a review. I'm not sure what some of the angry people's problems are who commented before me. I've had nothing but great interactions and conversations with Alana as well as Sam who own the park. They keep me up to date with the improvements going on in the park. Some minor construction is necessary to keep the park up to date and do improvements so again, I'm not sure why the complaints when they are working on bettering the park. Happy to be here in paradise at Blue Fin.
