Speaking as owner of River Rim RV Park: We do charge a fully refundable $200 security deposit for monthly stays to protect us from people leaving without paying their power (as power is not included). We in fact had someone early July 2015 leave without paying their $68.00 power bill. It was a nice protection to have that deposit. We always hand back the deposit when people are ready to depart if they let us know they are leaving so that we can get a meter read and get the payment for the power (or deduct the power from the deposit). Regarding the person who left without paying their power, we mailed a refund to them within 2 days. They did txt us a week later asking about their deposit and was informed that that had been mailed out within 2 days of their departure. Apparently, according to the gentleman we spoke with, his wife had not yet checked their P.O. Box.
If a person wishes to reserve a month stay, they are informed prior to booking the reservation that a $200 refundable security deposit is required and that monthly stays do not include bathrooms/showers, power or internet. If those items are preferred to be included then people opt for the weekly or nightly rate.
We have been working to improve our rv park and don't start work prior to 8am nor continue after 9pm and we always keep people informed if they will be affected. Monthly stays are asked to water flowers and trees at their site so as to minimize the need for us to walk continuously into and through their site.
Laundry facilities are a convenience and open for use from 7:30am - 6:pm 7 days a week.
As always, we hope that people enjoy their stay. We know that we cannot please everyone, but we try our best to make everyone's stay pleasant and enjoyable. We are sorry if someone did not enjoy their stay and did not have a conversation with us if their stay was so miserable after staying for 6 weeks. Sincerely, David and Renee Young
I would give 0 stars if it was an option. DO NOT STAY HERE! After we made a reservation to stay for a month and given the $300 monthly rate we were told there was a $200 reservation and $75 fee to use shower and restroom and $15 internet fee. The morning after we arrived construction was started for expansion for a new spot. After working late I would be woken by back hoes and digging outside my window. Then be told they have to shut off water or electric. We had a puppy in the rv and it is 100 degrees and had to worry about that. Then you work all day and get home and make dinner and go to do laundry and are told it is not convenient for her because she would have to stay up late to get the key to laundry back. The one time I did use the shower (most expensive shower I have ever had) it was late and I just wanted a quiet shower and was interrupted to remind me to turn off the light when I leave. Like I am not able to read the sign next to the door. After a month we had had enough and decided to leave. We were also sent a text that day to tell us to make sure we pulled weeds in our slot, pick up dog poo ( which we always did but the poo out there was bigger than our entire dog) and water the trees. Hello?? We were informed our electric for the month was $68. Since they had a $200 deposit we saw a refund of $132. We informed them we would be leaving and that did not go well. After waiting almost two weeks we received our refund with a letter accusing us of being thieves for not paying the electric four times! Why would we pay you when you owed us money? Very poorly run. We found another park for $350 a month. No deposit. You do not have to pay to use bathroom and can do laundry anytime. Cable and Internet are also free and nice shade trees. There are much better places. Do not stay here!!!
Beautiful RV park, nice wide spaces with plenty of room in between. Quiet and scenery is spectacular. Sits on the edge of a canyon overlooking the Crooked River. Big area for dogs to walk around and use while on leash. Convenience store with pizza counter is within walking distance.
Nice Stay over 4th of July Weekend. Very personable and helpful owners living on site. Beautiful location in crooked river ranch close to smith rock and Sisters. A bit dusty and hot in july as the park is unpaved, but facilities are clean and site park provides access to Crooked river ranch pool. Some sites are better than others for a big rig. Ask to reserve #10 for great views.....
We stayed here for 1 week and were told when we checked in that the people staying in the “office” were the owners parents and would help us if we had any issues. The week started off great other than the fact that the restrooms were not cleaned the entire time we were there (one of the stalls in the women’s restroom has been clogged the entire time). That should have been the first red flag for us as we are in the middle of a pandemic, but we chose to ignore the issue because the couple in the “office” were very nice people and we didn’t want to cause any issues as most of the residents are year-round residents and the owners said they were doing us a favor by letting us stay there for one week only. We happily paid for our one week stay and figured because we were paying a good amount of money to be there while we were both at work all day everyday and only on the property to sleep and shower, we were really actually doing them a favor. Then Father’s Day came and the owners parents left really early in the morning to go on a fishing trip. Good for them! They should be able to happily enjoy their Father’s Day! This was not the issue. The issue was the fact that when they left (sometime around 4am) they decided to leave a very loud dog outside in their fenced in yard to bark obnoxiously ALL MORNING LONG. We were unaware that they had left for said fishing trip and were under the impression that NO aggressive dogs were allowed on the property. There is signage posted stating so. My boyfriend went over to the office around 5:45am to kindly ask them to quiet their dog down and tried to allow the barking dog to smell him before trying to open the gate to get to the office door. He was under the impression that no aggressive dogs were allowed on the property. Said dog bit his arm and left a pretty good size puncture wound that drew blood. When we tried to contact the owners of the property, the phone went straight to voicemail so we had no other option but to call the police as we did not want any other residents to get hurt. The owner refused to pay for any medical bills and told us that there is no manager on the property (there was no sort of emergency contact information left for us) even though when we checked in, we were told that the couple staying in the office would help us if we had any issues. A dog barking non-stop at 4am seems like a pretty valid issue as their quiet hours are from 9pm-7:30am. The owners were willing to refund us for our stay but would not be paying for any medical bills because they live 3hrs away and it was not their dog. This is NOT ok. 1. There needs to be someone to contact on the property in case of an emergency. Not someone who lives 3hrs away. 2. If you have a sign that states “office” there should be someone in charge staying in said “office”. 3. Residents should be able to comfortably reach the “office” door to ask for help when needed. 4. If you require your residents to have no aggressive dogs, there shouldn’t be an aggressive dog guarding the office with no one home. 5. If the people that were meant to be there to help in case anything is needed leave for the day, there should be something posted with emergency contact information. We had to look up the number for a phone that goes straight to voicemail and is the owners that live 3hrs away. Everything about this situation is unacceptable and we will NEVER stay here again. We definitely don’t recommend anyone waste their money here.
