This busy sno-park/trailhead is used to access non-motorized winter trails, as well as summer hiking/biking trails. There are toilets in the site and a warming hut available to winter users.
From Bend, OR: Travel west on Cascade Lakes Highway (Road 46) approx. 17 miles.
Great cross country skiing. Pay close attention to the trail map as some genius decided to include planned trails on the map. if you aren't cautious you will be counting on trails that don't exist and get turned around. Not that this happened to me of course, being the experienced outdoorsman that I am, I'm just saying... you know, other people, they might... Just be careful.
It was a nice sunny day!
However, the bathroom was very nasty, yuck, and the signage on trails confusing as to what trail to go where.trails were icy,we used spikes to hike with.
Crowded,but ample parking.
Trailhead with 2 pit toilets. In the summer it has several different mountain bike trails and in the winter is a great place for snowshoeing and x-country skiing. For x-country skiing there is a groomed loop trail or multiple ungroomed trail options.
Well marked cross-country ski and snow shoe trails. There is plenty of selection ranging from long to short, with a 2 mile walk being the shortest.
