It was a great and un experience the staff was amazing and helpful and polite I definitely want to do it again and I highly recommend the experience.
Been camping here for over 25 years and it's my favorite place to camp. Friendly and helpful staff, clean bathrooms, kayak launch, right on the river with a swimming/ fishing hole. There's plenty of trees and planted flowers. I can't think of a better happy place.
It’s hard to describe this place, because I never saw something of the like even though I imagine it to be all over the nation.
Campground located at the entrance of a very small rural town, alongside a river. It smells like cow, and ( SD?) weather/season brought in lots of bugs and mosquitoes. The latter is the reason why I did not stay long.
$12 for tent spot including access to hot unlimited shower! Can’t beat that.
The campground: tightly packed with people, RVs, and campers mainly, and some tents. This is a family campground for working families. Many people here know each other for a long time; they sit and drink together at night; they go to Steve’s and drink some more—or vice versa. There are canoes and
kayaks. Fish is not good, but the river is.
Yes: the 3 or so rooms with toilets and showers are not quite enough if you do not get up early. And it can be dirty because of the packs of kids and grownups. Nothing the owners can do much about.
This is a very affordable place that people come back to and create family at. Tribal love. A small village of people who might know each other too much.
It’s a special place and its
own world.
Stumbled across their campground on a cross country trip. So happy that we did because the place and the couple running it were wonderful! We had the river front to ourselves that night. We will go back again, next time it will be on purpose!
