Dispersed camping located near Rimrock Lake with RV and tent sites.
Highway 12 to Forest Service Road 1200.
This is for north of Rimrock Lake, there is a number of camping spots between Rimrock and Clear lakes that are great for a weekend away. We have verizon and had one bar of service, so it was easy to turn off our phones and enjoy nature. We saw Elk every day (stayed a total of three nights, four days). Had a great time!
Rimrock is very beautiful you get amazing views and pictures here, I've noticed the water is very dirty tho I'm not sure if people swim like that I wouldn't.
If you are camping on Rimrock Lake, check out Silver Beach Resort!! It has tent sites, RV sites with power and water hookups, restrooms, showers, store and cafe, playground, kayaks and paddle boat to rent, and boat launch. Family owned and run. Super nice people.... Come up and spend some time here! It's beautiful! ☺️🌞💚
Took 10, Yes 10, teenagers camping! They had a blast!!!! Bring your misquito repellent and a good tarp. Don't forget the TP. We forgot a spatula, so we made due with a knife and ax. Remember, "Pack it in,Pack it out! Sooo many burnt beer/pop cans. Embarrassing! Did your parents teach you nothing??!! And there are dumpsters at the airstrip by the bathrooms. Also, please, if your dog 🐕 likes to run, please keep it on a leash. There was a dog fight that ended up in a people fight at like 8 in the morning waking up everyone on that side of the lake. Holy moly! Great place to camp!!
I love Rimrock Lake! It is so beautiful, quiet and the water is wonderful to swim in. I have only found one public access park along the lake (Horseshoe Cove Boat Launch) and the rest are private access only. It is also 30-40 minutes out of town, but totally worth it.
