A classic bridge experience with access to the crystal clear river.
Great hike today. Started at the Purdon Crossing bridge and headed upstream for about 2.5 miles. Had an elevation gain of about 750 feet. I would call this easy to moderate. Trail starts out wide and becomes narrow. The hike goes along the Yuba—you can’t always see it but you can hear it.
Magical spot!
Bumpy dirt road to get there but very pretty drive, limited parking and access to river. It doesn’t have sandy beaches but more big rocks to chill on in the river. I liked this spot but may not be ideal for everyone, probably why not as crowded as other spots. Driving over the bridge was an experience too!
