Shade
As the campground was built in 2018, shade trees have been planted on select sites in the area of Site 18 through Site 31, but are not tall enough yet to provide shade. The rest of the sites have no trees on them, there is just a tree line as shown on the map along the northern and southern exterior sites, as well as behind Sites 1, 2, and 3. Site 5 is the only site that has trees all the way around it, providing more privacy than other sites.
Located just south of M-28 in Christmas, MI, Pictured Rocks RV Park & Campground is Munising’s newest campground. A new park with a lot of potential. Sites are wide and spaced nicely. Looks like improvements are in process. Would recommend checking showers before you use them… they need more hooks and benches and shower heads that give adequate water pressure.
This is a relatively new park. I think its about 6 years old. The park is a few miles outside of Munising. Its still a short drive into town and to Pictured Rocks. No significant road noise. The park does not overlook the lake, if that’s a criteria for you. Its not an interesting park but it does offer large sites with plenty of room between sites. It has some of the new park characteristics, like lack of trees, playground still not set up, etc. Everything worked fine, though. Water, electric were fine. At our site, 70, the sewer connection was very high. That didn't seem to be the case at other sites, though. Internet was satisfactory, with only a few drops while we were there. Site was close to level. Laundry had two washers and two dryers but one dryer was out of order.
We stayed for 3 of the nicest days September, 2023 had to offer at this very nice, well kept campground! Well marked sites, plenty of space on our site. Even though our neighbors left their dogs on site that barked all day, we were in and out so it wasn't really too much of an inconvenience. Please, people, if you bring pets, take them with you, or get them kenneled.
