This campground was located in a good place for our UP tour. The sites were large, level and grassy. However, that's the only positive. It was old and run down. The picnic table was not usable. We were told in advance of coming that we'd have 30 amp service and wifi. We did have 30 amp service but upon check-in were told not to use air conditioning as it may cause a power outage. So, sunny days on a camper in an open field made for a hot camper. And the wifi was so spotty that we couldn't even use it. The garbage area was filled to overflowing. The dump station was a bit awkwardly located. We had a wonderful vacation but only because we didn't use the campground for anything but a place to park our camper and sleep.
We would absolutely stay here at Alpine again, not a bad place at all for what it is. Yes the showers were a little on the rough side but we shower in flip flops no matter where we are! It was a quaint, quiet spot that we could park our VW Westie and relax after a long drive. Would have been nice to know it was cash only but a quick trip into town solved that. I would recommend this place to my parents to stay at!
So a bit unkept and old. But..the beautiful soul who runs it was worth every penny, elderly woman, sweet as can be. Made he cheese cake. We had a huge site and the pond and river are awesome.
