Stayed here for a long weekend as a “base” for venturing out and fly fishing in the area. Campground was essentially full during our stay. Showers and restrooms were impeccably clean. We never encountered another person while going to the bathhouse. Fire wood was brought right to our site without hassle. Pool looks amazing, but was closed while we were there due to what appears to be government over reach… EGLE bureaucracy… We did find out that m37 appears to be a thoroughfare for trucks hauling cherries south out of traverse city… and they use jake brakes.. Our site was one of the ones near the road and we did sleep in a tent though. We only got up in the middle of the night a couple times to make sure a semi wasn't barreling towards us… haha.. other than the cherry truck traffic, it was great.

Peterson Campground and Cabins is one of the nicest campgrounds we have been too. The manager Jake and his wife Angel are AWESOME people and do a GREAT job running it. When we first arrived our outdoor kitchen latch broke and Jake was right there to help my husband fix it and bring tools to help. Thanks so much Jake. Then on July 20 while we were camping here we woke up to a vase of flowers, candy kisses, balloons, a card and a bundle of firewood. That day was our 37th Anniversary. It made our day. The pool was not open yet but that was ok. Only about 30 minutes from Lake Michigan. The pool area is going to be wonderful lol when it’s completed. The campground is kept very nice and clean. It’s very quiet and peaceful. There is a little road noise but not bad at all. We ended up staying for 9 nights. We will definitely be back and we highly recommend this Campground. Thank you Jake and Angel. Tim & Lori Carley

First time staying here, the cabins were simple but perfect! Clean, set up with everything you would need! The staff was extremely kind and accommodating! Location is close to the river and trails, we will absolutely be back!!

Petersen Creek Cabins and Campground

With 47 seasonal and 15 daily sites suitable for motor homes, 5th wheel and travel trailers this park has been completely renovated with all new 50/30 amp electric, water and sewer hook-ups. Sites are spacious and beautifully shaded by mature deciduous trees, preserved as the park was developed. Parking sites are grass covered.

It is a solid 4 star rating, destined to be a five star when the swimming pool is completed.

For many years Petersen Creek Cabins was a rustic 7 Cabin & 15 Travel Trailer Campground with electric only for the trailer sites. It has been completely renovated.

Campground now, no longer cabins. Owners are great. New pool, New bathhouse recently, both clean and well maintained. A quiet place to park your camper, kick back and relax.
