About Campground

Overview

Dewdrop Campground sits on the Kinzua Arm of the Allegheny Reservoir in northwest Pennsylvania, offering a popular getaway for boaters and families.

Recreation

Water activities abound, including lake fishing, boating, and water skiing. A boat launch is available for convenient lake access for campers only. A 2.5 mile trail winds around the campground. Dewdrop is located on the Longhouse Scenic Drive, a winding loop around the Kinzua Arm of the reservoir that includes PA-59, PA-321, and Forest Road 262 (Longhouse Scenic Byway).

Facilities

This large campground offers 74 reservable family campsites that include a picnic table, fire ring and tent pad. Flush toilets, drinking water and a dump station are provided.

Amenities such as firewood, ice, interpretive services and 24-hour campground attendants are offered at the site.

Natural Features

The Allegheny National Forest covers nearly half a million acres and is populated primarily with black cherry, maple and other hardwoods. The Kinzua Dam, built in 1965, impounds the Allegheny River to form the 25-mile-long Allegheny Reservoir. Dewdrop clings to the hillside above the water, providing a multi-level tiered campground.

Nearby Attractions

The Kinzua Dam is a short drive to the west on PA-59. The Jakes Rocks Epic Mountain Bike Trail system connects to Dewdrop Campground and consists of trail loops built specifically for mountain biking on the mountain behind the campground. Hikers are also welcome on the trail but remember to keep an eye out for and give way to mountain bike riders. Kinzua Point Information Center is staffed by volunteers on most summer weekends and offers great views up the Allegheny Reservoir.

Directions

From Warren, Pennsylvania, take PA-59 east for 13 miles. Turn onto Longhouse Scenic Byway/Forest Road 262 south and continue 3 miles to the campground. From the east, take PA-59. Just after crossing the Morrison Bridge over the Kinzua Arm of the reservoir, turn left and proceed 3 miles to the campground.

We had wings and beer there, it was a very enjoyable casual night out. Our waitress was on top of things and regularly checked on us and kept up with the drinks. Definitely recommend any of the dry rubs for wings and any of their ales on tap!

I just started working in the area, and was told that I should try their wings. So I stopped on Thursday night (wing night) and did so. I ordered a dozen, and the young lady looked at me and said, are you sure ya don't want to start off with 6? They are really big 🐓, so I agreed with the 6. I was glad that I did, as they were the biggest, that I had ever had. I'm not a wing freak, I'm used to the normal split wings ya get in a small town club or bar, though I have had my share of whole wings living in the suburbs of Pittsburgh for a lot of years.

The Dew Drop's wings are #1 any where in the state IMO of coarse, and the reason isn't size, it's the taste of the chicken, hands down the best tasting chicken that I have ever had! Now you choose which sauce ya want, I got hot. To me hot sauce is hot sauce, so I can't say much about that, but it was a great hot sauce. The flavor of the chicken is a must try!

I liked the wings and atmosphere so much, I stopped the next night, for another recommended dish, their cheese steak. Like the wings, it's another top ranking dish for me, served at the Dew Drop Inn, as a matter of fact I can't remember a cheese steak as good!

The service is 2nd to none with a smile, and they are running to serve you, because they are very popular, and usually busy, so be patient, the food is sooooooo worth it!

Courtney and Autumn (I hope I got your names right) were wonderful! We’d never been there before & even though they were busy bartending & waiting tables they made a point to greet us. They were on top of their game covering the room. Very welcoming& friendly. Other staff were just as nice. We just had an appetizer but very good. Fun atmosphere!

Not sure how they make a pizza that leaks like that but it leaked all over the seat on the drive home. The time before the beer cheese lids weren’t secure and spilt all over the bag. Food was decent but I’m not sure how you do this to pizza
