Lovely area on the Suwannee to bring the family...white sandy beaches, shallow sandbags, and a custom tree swing that's been there as long as I have been going!
Hot water, a shower, clean bathrooms, and enclosed sleeping areas. Not ideal for those who want to "rough it" but really nice for leisure campers. Watch out for ticks however. They were pretty bad when we arrived. Great place to meet fellow Suwanee River travelers.
Love this place its free parking few place to swim nice place for families to go. River is high right now so you have to be very careful other than that very good place to enjoy the river to relax
I’m so impressed with this camp site. The well stocked bathroom is super clean and has a shower and hot water. There’s a sink and counter for washing dishes. We stayed in the primitive camp site area where there’s a fire pit and grill with a griddle. We came by canoe and there’s a long ramp (approximately 400 ft) to the camp sites but they have wheel barrels and wagons that you can use to bring your supplies up. For our group of 8, it was nice to stay on the primitive side where we had the entire place to ourselves. However we were able to use all the amenities. We especially want to thank our host, Billy who went out of his way to make our spay extra special. At the dish washing sink, he provided a coffee maker with coffee, sugar, and creamer. He also provided a waffle maker if you wanted to. Since we originally planned for a true primitive camping, we had all needed equipment and supplies. But then Billy went into to town to get us cinnamon rolls because we had a hankering for them. The stay is free with suggested donations of $5/pp per night. In addition to donating to the park to help maintain the park, we gave Billy some “thank you” tips as he doesn’t get paid to be the amazing host. Highly recommended!
Couldn’t kayak but still had fun! The campground was nice. Beautiful views too. We were able to catch huge blue catfish here.
