Breathtaking! Limited entry keeps this gem quiet, serene, and special. Most campsites have fire rings and/or easy lake access.
Considering how easy the hike in is and how beautiful the lake is, I am surprised this place isn't so busy. If you are up for a challenge, I recommend doing the Pamelia Lake and Grizzly Peak hiking combo.
Absolutely, hate this place. Limited, not visible camping spot signage, brochures are always empty. The US Forestry personal are only onsite to ruin your day. Even if you have all of your passes and papers in order, they will still harass and delay your ability to enjoy the outdoors. While reminding you of all the fees they can charge you. It's too bad it sucks so much to have a good time here. It's beautiful there, it's just the way US Forestry runs the place.
Love the wilderness here! Not a difficult hike but far enough away from anything else. Seems like a great place to camp!
Pretty cool lake, semi private campsites and easy access to pacific crest trail. Can also access grizzly peak, hunts lake ect. Requires special entry permit and n.w forest pass to get in. There is a vault toilet and picnic benches at trailhead
