The Williamson Campground is one of the larger campgrounds in the Lostine River Canyon. Situated along the Wild and Scenic Lostine River, the campground has lots of shady pine and fir trees which makes it popular for summer and fall campers enjoying the canyon or adjacent Eagle Cap Wilderness. The facility offers 8 tent/trailer sites and 5 tent-only sites which located below the campground road. Some of the favorite sites during weekends and holidays are next to the river.
From Enterprise, Oregon travel west on Highway 82 for 10 miles to Lostine, Oregon; In Lostine turn left at Lostine River Road and go 7 miles; The Lostine River Road turns into Forest Road 8210 at Forest Boundary; Continue 4 miles on Forest Road 8210; Campground entrance is on right side of road.
Its beautiful and relaxing. This particular camp site was also the day use to get to the beach so you get to meet other people
Now this was camping! No resort. No store. No hwy. Just plain good ole fresh air, quiet, beauty. Fishing, hiking, and wildlife galore! This place only has 8 spots and are first come. We can in on Wed, and by Fri eve all were about taken and several cars coming thru looking for a place. There is only 1 other, maybe 2, campgrounds along the same road but if you are coming on a Fri, good luck!
Beautiful location! There are only 9 sites and site #5 is a bit confusing because it is a double campsite with 2 firepits and tent spots that are very separated. First come, first serve, $6 per site per day. River is super close and there is a great swimming area with a rocky shore and even a rock to jump from (about 6 foot up).
There are areas where there's a few campsites that are located closer together. Benefit of these sites is that there are restrooms and the river is close to most fee camping areas and is calm enough to dip your toes in. Then there are also a few dispersed camping areas. There's my favorite site where it's far enough from the main road that you don't really see people driving by. The road can be busy since there's a trail head at the end of the road. Turning around there can be rather difficult because it is often over flowing with vehicles. There are also dispersed camp sites closer to the road which I would not recommend for families with small children or dogs, just cause of the road being busy. Overall, this is where we prefer to camp in the county if it's not already taken cause all sites are first come first serve.
Great campground area with access to the river and good hiking trails. Well maintained roads and is a beautiful drive with lush vegetation and lots of deer.
Campsites are well set up, clean and with plenty of trees in between them.
