About Campground

Tillicum Beach Campground is popular for many reasons, but the number one and most obvious is its location right on the beach. Campers are lulled to sleep by the sound of the ocean waves, then wake to sweeping views of the Pacific. The campground offers an ideal location for whale watching. Most campsites have beachfront views, and sunsets are not to be missed. Surfing, swimming and playing in the sand are the campgrounds most popular activities. Natural Features: The coastal campground lies a couple miles south of where the Alsea River meets the Pacific Ocean. Tillicum is perfectly perched on the sandy beach yet it still offers some shade. The campground offers views of both the ocean and the Coastal Range. Recreation: Campers enjoy Tillicum for its expansive sandy beach. Surfers and swimmers play in the waves just off-shore. Children love building sandcastles on the beach. Walking along the beach is a great way to explore the area. Cape Perpetua is 6 miles south, where visitors can wander through old-growth Sitka spruce, experience the crashing surf, investigate tide pools, whale watch or take a guided hike. Waldport, just 4 miles north, provides access to fishing, crabbing, clamming and shrimping in the Alsea Bay and River. Facilities: The campground offers several single-family campsites, a few of which have both electric and water hookups. Sites with hookups are not on the waterfront. Due to the campgrounds popularity, its a good idea to make reservations in advance. Each site is equipped with a picnic table and campfire ring. Flush toilets and drinking water are provided but there are no showers. Nearby Attractions: The Rock Creek Wilderness Area, within the Siuslaw National Forest off Coastal Highway 101, encompasses about 7,500 acres. The area is comprised of a dense coniferous rainforest, where bigleaf maple and red alder trees line the creeks, and rhododendrons dot the forest floor. Marys Peak is the highest point in Oregons Coast Range and has been designed a Scenic Botanical Area because of its rich, unique scenery and plants. ACTIVITIES Fishing Hiking Swimming Site

Loved this campground. We had site 56 and loved it. In the trees with picnic table and fire pit secluded behind our site. Bathroom very close and beach a short walk away. No electricity or water in our site but it is available in many others. Quite but a little background highway noise. Highly recommend this campground.

Fantastic views. I hope no one reads this but also it's a shame not to spread good news!

Beautiful sandy beach for strolling & dog play.

Seals are known to be watching from the tides, taste the ocean in the morning and fall asleep to the sound of waves.

It's rad. They have clean restrooms and some pretty private campsites. Staff is so helpful too.

We love tillicum beach campground. Not the fault of management but most sites when it rains are flooded out. We have a trailer so didn't affect us as much as if we were tent camping. Bathrooms are nice and kept clean.

Don't bother calling the number for the camp...they say they never get the messages 🤨

Once again...not the fault of the management....getting to the beach can be a challenge! They have great stairs but then you have a mass of boulders you have to climb on and around on both entrances to the beach. If you have mobility issues you won't make it😩

This was a very nice, not too dense, campground on a slight bluff above the ocean. There are plenty of sites right on the cliff edge or others with shade just steps away. We had site 38 among the trees and there was a native orchid in full bloom. As others have mentioned, the bathrooms are plentiful and very clean, water is readily available to any site, and many sites have electricity.

We have been visiting this camground for several years. Something has happened in the late part of 2023 beginning of 2024 the park has gone down hill rapidly! They raised the fees and charge TAX. What? This is Oregon and the company that runs this park is based in Utah. Why am I paying your taxes (American land and leisure) more over they have stopped supplying soap in the restrooms. My last 4 trips there has been no soap. When confronted about the issue (they say it's vandalism.) They used to have regular pump and bottle dispensers that sat on the sink (dial bottles) they never seemed to go missing when we visited before 2024. Seriously what is going on..?? They also took away ALL of the RECYCLING bins in the entire park. I don't know about Utah, but we recycle here on the COAST! And now for the added pleasure, they now have signage on ALL the faucets (no filling tanks or bottles per the health department) that is a BOLD lie. The Forestry department checks the water multiple times a day for safety. I don't know about you my fellow campers but when the fees to camp here are $20 more than Oregon State Parks, for a 100% less. It's time to camp someplace that respects OUR LAND, and OUR MONEY. There are many other camping spots that are not ran by this shady dirty company from Utah!!!!! We Oregon folk need to support OUR LOCAL BUSINESSES!!

Shame on you, America land and leisure. You don't deserve the land use permits for OREGON land.
