About Campground

Hidden deep within a dense ponderosa pine forest, this campground is located on the southeast edge of Mill Creek Wilderness. The campground is walking distance from the Wildcat South Trailhead. On the way to the campground, you will pass the White Fir Springs agate beds that are popular for rockhounding, but otherwise there are few developed recreational draws to the area, which makes it the perfect place to have your own forest adventure. Visit our Rocks & Minerals page for more information on rockhounding. View a vicinity map of Mill Creek wilderness and trails

Directions

From Prineville, Oregon: Take Highway 26 east for approximately 19 miles, then turn left onto Forest Service Road 3350 (Wildcat Mountain Road).   Continue for approximately 6 miles on Forest Service Road 3350 to the junction with Forest Service Road 300.   Turn right here and proceed up Forest Service Road 300 for approximately 2 miles where the road will dead-end into White Rock Campground.

You must have high clearance 4x4 vehicle to get here. There are only two sites to camp. They each have a fire ring and a picnic table.

It is very pretty. Unfortunately, people are putting their trash in the toilet.

It is a few miles gravel and dirt road. You should not try driving in unless you have a SUV.

Yep need a built rig to get here. Road is terrible. Best to stay home or just sleep in your jeep closer to the hi way. Bring recovery gear in case you need. Winch and snatch block recommended.

Just kidding I think it's been graded recently. Or these other reviewers are goofballs. Drove a loaded down stock Forester in here with zero trouble.

Good little hidey hole not to far from 26.
