Ohana Celebration Park is a new park with a vast history. The park was founded by O.G. and Elizabeth Kuykendall over 40 years ago as Lester Flatt Memorial Park. This name remains as the identifier for the RV park to honor all the hard work of the Kuykendall family put in to creating the park. The park was named after Lester Flatt, who was an American bluegrass guitarist and mandolinist, best known for his collaboration with banjo picker Earl Scruggs in The Foggy Mountain Boys. The park has been known for its outdoor music events at the open-air Lester Flatt stage featuring Gospel and Bluegrass music. It has hosted many well-known performers such as Ricky Skaggs, The Judd's, George Jones, Little Jimmy Dickens and many other very talented musicians local and abroad. Elizabeth always treated their performer guests like family and invited them into her home and even fed a few of them.
In its day Lester Flatt Memorial park had over 300 campsites with many supporting full hookups. The park also features a bathhouse, a large pavilion for various events, and an open-air chapel that overlooks the 22-acre lake. The Kuykendall family poured their hearts into the park for many years.
Turn and the Hilltop fire department onto Lester Flatt Dr and follow it back to the park.
We had a great time with a big group of friends and families of all ages! We had picinic tables and grills and a great spot to setup for the day just uphill from the sabdy shore and lakeside. Lots of shade over the beach area while the kids played and played. We rented paddle boats and kayaks, some brought their own. They also had an inflatable obstacle course that the kids loved! Everyone working was so helpful and kind... my toddler roamed like he didn't know a stranger and they all were so sweet. We will definitely be spending more time here. It is also an RV Park :)
This place is beautiful and peaceful and a few miles from my brother, so I do plan to return. They have a huge swimming area on a sandy beach. While the kiddos went swimming, we went fishing there off the bank and caught lots of good size Brim and a few catfish and that night we watched the 4th of July fireworks show.
Friendly staff and clean restrooms!! They also have kayak, canoe, and paddleboat rentals so check them out if you are in central Arkansas looking for outdoor activities!
We did an overnight stay at the park. It’s a mix of long term and short term sites. Excellent owners, quiet, full hookups, fairly level sites. Good place!!
I can't say enough about how amazing this place is! The owners are so, so nice and very helpful. The camp spots are just right but the most incredible park is the small lake, wow, just wow!!! I would highly recommend this little hidden gem!
Ohana was great I'd absolutely recommend a trip out there.
Pros: Super clean. Beautiful lake and swim area. The owners and staff obviously care about their patrons and their property.
Cons: Tent sites are a little small. Sites are sand so it gets in everything (although tbf my kids loved the sand 😅). The ants are pretty bad (I've heard from numerous sources the owners are working on this one though).
