One of my favorite places in Montana. We saw a bear every evening we were inside the park on the road to Bowman Lake between 6-8pm in late August.
Temporarily closed during road construction, the construction crews are parking all their equipment here and have the entrance blocked off 😞
We ended up finding a spot just a bit up the road across the street from the boat launch. Lots of room, great views, right next to the river and a vault toilet 😁
What a gem! Gorgeous sites available (but limited quantity). Somewhat rough/rocky road to get there, but most vehicles can probably handle it.
And you can walk from your site to the small “town” area that has a tavern, food truck, and paid cabin section.
