**This site is not maintained but can still be used.** Campers must hike in to the developed areas, and all sites are primitive. No electric hook ups, no toilets, no running water available.
From Lenoir, NC, take State Rt. 90 west 4 miles to Boone Fork Recreation Area sign (Mulberry Creek Dr.). Turn right at sign and go 4.5 miles to a Boone Fork sign (Boone Fork Rd.). Turn right onto Boone Fork Rd. (dirt, single lane) and go 2 miles to campground
Great place to hike. Too bad the camp ground is closed. Looks like a peaceful place to camp.
This place is *not* usable even though multiple resources say it’s closed but not maintained and still can be used. This is not true. A locked gate stops vehicles about ½ mile from “destination”.
