The park is on Route 96A, 11 miles south of Geneva. It is located on the east shore of Seneca Lake, off Route 96A
Great park with a number of amenities. Marina with ramp, cabins, military museum, pontoon rentals, convenience store, outdoor movie theater, rv sites and more. All this on the Eastern shore of one of the Fingerlakes.
I had to use the boat launch at Sampson. It was really the best I ever used! The textured ramp was great, my truck, and I had great traction to easily pull my boat out of the water! The attendant at the ramp helped get me on the trailer and tied down! The marina is absolutely spotless with plenty of car/truck & trailer parking. Ramp use is $8 if you don't have a season pass. I highly recommend it!
I had an amazing time at Sampson State Park in NY! The camping experience was peaceful, and swimming in the clear waters was so refreshing. The playground was a hit with my family, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to our trip. This park is a complete package for camping and outdoor fun!
New Yorks State Parks are beautiful, green, dog friendly and usually on or near water... but this one is special! Dating back to the 70's but still as pristine as the day it opened! Right next to (in the same property) is Seneca Lake Resorts, that sits right on Seneca Lake in the Heart of the Finger Lakes. Perfect for a glamping trip in one of their brand new 1-2 bedroom cabins (full kitchen + AC) or hook up at one of their 100's of Camper hook-ups... then come get some delicious from Pat's Pizzeria located at the Concession Building, eat in our picnic area, play some arcade games, and catch a movie on the huge outdoor Theater! (not far from the restrooms and playground) and every Friday night there is live music... #1 spot to bring the Family, let loose, have fun and enjoy the Finger Lakes!
Rough start not realizing there are no fresh water hook ups and only 30 amp power so we had to scramble to buy a converter for it but the family loved playing in the lake and kayaking. If you need anything like tums etc there is a camp store at the marina that are really helpful and nice! Staff who answer the phone are not always pleasant to talk to and can be snotty. We heard a bobcat scream and that was probably the coolest part.
