Located at the south end of the Mt. Wilson volcanic caldera, this scenic area offers a variety of camping and outdoor pleasures. A popular camping area for users of Eagle Valley Reservoir. There are two camping areas in the upper Meadow Valley. The area west of the highway has a rest room and four camping spots with tables, and fire rings, but camper access is not advised. The lower campground on the east side of the road is a primitive camping area with no amenities and easy camper access.
Travel east of Pioche Nevada on US Highway 322 for 17.5 miles until reaching Meadow Valley Campground on the west side of the highway.
No Fee
A small camping spot with bathroom facilities. Its free so that beats all! There were tables and fire pits at each one. It started raining shortly after I got there and never let up until I left so I cant say much about the area.
A quiet, clean and free campground for those traveling on a budget. It was so quiet that I was the only one there that night!
I give this campground 5 stars not because of the wazoo amenities but because of the availability and accessibility. It is free dry camping at it's finest. There is a chemical toilet available and several sites depending on your needs. Did I say that it is FREE! and well maintained. No running water available but if you need water because you neglected to bring your own it and flush toilets are available not far down the road at Eagle Valley Reservoir. The Eagle Valley Resort is also not far. It offers friendly staff, drinks at the bar, pool table, and a small store/bait shop.
