I stopped over late on a road trip across I-80 as an alternative to staying in a hotel. This is a clean, well-maintained little campground, with nice (enough) bathrooms and showers, and an attentive campground host. I would definitely do it again.

Very nice recreational area. We stopped just for one night and were very happy we did. Pictures and video show a storm moving right over the lake that late afternoon. We didn't manage to shoot more pictures because of the storm. Stay safe.

I didn't stay here, just visited for the Nebraska Great Park Pursuit. I would definitely like to stay here though! Looks very pretty and enough space to spread out of you want.

Lovely campsites and clean facilities make Mormon Island a delightful destination. Tent sites are generously spaced, and have ample trees for shade and hammock-tying purposes. Grills and firepits are included at each site. A small branch of the Platte River runs along many of the tent sites, affording ample opportunities for bird and wildlife watching and admiration of native wildflowers. Noise from the nearby interstate is more pronounced at night, but the scenery and convenience far outweigh this minor distraction. Can't wait to return.

Nice place to do nature stuff. Best part it's within walking distance from the truck stop. 15-minute walk and you're away from all that truck noise and in a quiet nature setting. Love it!
