Very interesting campground and perfect for a history buff. Great hiking and sight seeing all around the state park.

This campground is specifically for RVs. There is no designated space for tents and there is very little space and no privacy between campsites. Some spots are better than others when it comes to shade. (site 3 was not well shaded mid-afternoon -- this is apparent by the cracked and splintered picnic table that was unusable unless you wanted splinters). The restrooms were clean and I saw someone checking on them each day we were there. A ranger/camp host never came to check on us but I did see one make a couple rounds the 2nd night we were there. The mosquitos weren't bad but the wasps and flies made eating outside nearly impossible. The wasps were everywhere! But this campground was a good halfway point to our destination which is why we stayed for 1 night each on the way there and back.
