A very lovely campground. Clean, spacious, several bathrooms, coin operated showers. Lovely location on lake.
Great campsite. Hosts were very friendly and there was great places to swim and enjoy the water.
Not much was biting, but we had a good week of fun.
Great little campground for tent or RV camping. The tent area has lots of trees to provide shade throughout the day. The restrooms were very well maintained and the showers are relatively cheap at just 50 cents for 3 minutes. While the sites are walk in, there are plenty of places to park temporarily near most of the sites to walk your stuff in. While there is a boat launch with a good lake view at this site, you need to drive over to another campsite for swimming.
Valley View Flat is the better of the primitive camping sites at Calamus. Recently it has been improved with new bathrooms and showers. RV areas have been added, making the area a bit busier (this is why only 4 stars.) Most tent sites have tall trees and offer shade. Usually, the park has a custodian camper who takes care of trash and loud individuals. The site is friendly and clean. I've camped here several times.
The campground people kept harassing us for little things that we would correct but they stopped by us 4 different times within 30 minutes and were giving attitude. We did listen to what they said but overall it was a great. My dog was able to walk around (leashed) get to play in the little pond & very clean campground from others I've been to.
