This is a tent camping site in the WMNF with enough wooden platforms to accommodate tent camping for 30-40 people depending on tent sizes. There is a caretaker on site and small outhouses as well as water nearby either from a stream or from the Mizpah. The cabin is a short walk away. No shelter, five single platforms, two double platforms, composting outhouse, dishwashing area, metal food boxes for bear protection.
Beside Mizpah Spring Hut, on edge of Dry River Wilderness Area, in southern Presidential Range
$15 per person per night during the caretaker season, Memorial Day to Columbus Day. There is no fee required outside the caretaker season.
Had the dump to myself, very peaceful. And the privy is more than adequate.
Great location, near some great spots just a short hike away. Kind of loud though with the hut so nearby
We stayed at Nauman tent site on the 4th night of our trip through the white Mountains. The tent sites are located very close to the Hut and fresh water. The tent site had it's own caretaker who was kind and helpful. Only reason I have 4 stars is because a storm recently destroyed a lot of trees in the tent site area and they are still in the process of cleaning iit up. The lack of trees and proximity to the hut kind of took away a little privacy. I would still recommend stayting here.
I’ve stayed here twice and certainly one of the nicer places to camp in the area. Beautiful views. Limited people and when it’s open Mizpah hut offers a great service area for multi-day hikers. Grab a tent site early if you can, though they tend to make room when needed.
