Absolutely an AWESOME experience! This was our 2nd year here and it didn't disappoint as usual. The staff is awesome and the campground is probably one of the best around if not the BEST. The owners have put alot of time and effort into this place and it shows. This place is exceptionally clean, kid friendly, pet friendly and fishing friendly. I would HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone.

Ive read some of the negative reviews and quite honestly, it's more than likely the occupants and not the facility. I'll say it again, the staff was more than accommodating, friendly and provided exceptional service. The crowd from our experience is a laid back environment so all can relax. If you're looking for the "Myrtle Beach of the Mountains" this isn't it. Slow down and enjoy life.

Safe travels to All

MRFC was the prettiest campground! The fall colors were gorgeous. The stream and pond sites were gorgeous, even at night! The staff leads you to your site, and even guides you as you back into the site, saving lots of marriages! The picnic tables and playground looked brand new. The bathhouses were clean, the grounds were immaculate. There were plenty of hammocks, rocking chairs, and gliders to enjoy the surroundings. We've made reservations to come back next year!

Beautiful location of a campground in the mountains. Tucked in right beside the Toe River, Mountain River Campground is the perfect place for RV camping. The attention to detail of the Campground just made you feel special. Decorated for fall the Campground just gave you a great experience for the season. The views of the mountains and river with the colors were stunning. Many small places to visit close by that just give you many options of recreation for a visit to the mountains. We were very amazed and felt right at home for our first visit. We will be back.

This was our first time at Mountain River Family Campground and I found it based on a search and reading reviews.

It’s a lovely, small, family owned campground that is so well-maintained you can’t help but love it the moment you get there.

The views are stunning. The campsites are generous. The setting is very quiet and all the campers are very friendly.

We loved sitting by the water in the afternoon and taking a stroll around the grounds in the morning with our two dogs, stopping to see how many fish we could spot.

It is a short drive to Grandfather Mtn, Boone, and Linville Winery 😉

I can’t say enough nice things about this campground! We didn’t want to leave and we cannot wait to come back next year!

From the very beginning of booking our stay online, making changes to our stay (date and site), the staff communication has been great. Check-in was a breeze and all questions answered anytime we asked. This is truly a family run business and you can feel the genuine warmth. Our spot was ready when we arrived and we were escorted and assisted in backing in. The bath house was always clean as well as the grounds. Extra bonus was the arcade room with old school video games. Trash pick up through-out the day was nice and overall didn't really see a bad site within the CG. Would return again!
