Super cute campground, super family friendly. Would highly recommend for families with small kids. We would have loved this when my kids were little. There is a park in the middle of the tent sites and cabins in a circle. It's a super homey feel. Showers and bathrooms were clean and well maintained. People were friendly. There was a live folk band on Saturday night free. We tent camped. My only negative about this campground is the size and proximity of the sites overall. The sites are very small, some wouldn't even accommodate our large tent. They are separated by spray painted lines on thr grass. So your tent may be set up directly next to your neighbors. There is no privacy. Overall I loved everything else about this campground. I would come back.
The campground is an exquisite mountain secret with wonderful sites, facilities, reasonable rates, and it's located close to everything fun in the High Country. Jody at the office was an exceptional host.
They are "dog friendly" as long they don't make a peep. If your dog dares bark for any reasonable purpose, some long-term residents will make continuous complaints until you give up and leave because you're sick of getting glared at. Some road noise is bothersome initially, but it becomes background noise quickly.
I was hesitant in booking a site here as they looked very close together. Once we got there they were very close. But, we got a spot along the river that droned out the sounds from neighbors. The staff here are absolutely outstanding. They were so polite and willing to go way above and beyond to accommodate us. The bathrooms and showers were great as well. The hottest water with the best water pressure. This really hit the spot after dealing with the chilly overnight temps. Close proximity to Boone and all the hikes in the area. The positives overcome the one negative immensely. The tight space became irrelevant. I will return here again without hesitation. Thank you to all the lovely staff at Flintlock.
Love this place! Came down for an APP game. The campground was very convenient to the town of Boone. Lovely water flowing through and around. Friendly staff. Clean and bright spacious bathhouse with very hot water. $35 per night for water and electricity was more than a fair price. The interior campsites are tight for a large RV with slides but other than that it was great. Camp store has pretty much everything that you need if you forget something. We will definitely be back. The owners obviously take great pride in this space and seem to genuinely want you to enjoy your camping experience.
The owners are so kind and caring. The creek here is absolutely beautiful, and it is right beside the campgrounds, very easily accessible. This site is close to town, which is very convenient, but the sound of the cars driving by on the road can easily be heard and does take away some of the peacefulness of camping. Also, the campsites are a little closer together than I am used to, and the bathrooms did smell a little like mildew. Even still, I gave this place five stars because of the outstanding customer service and hospitality, which really stood out to me. Thank you for the lovely visit. God bless you.
