Set right off the Blue Ridge Parkway at Milepost 324.8, among the breathtaking Blue Ridge and Black Mountains and nestled in the Pisgah National Forest, Spacious Skies Bear Den is your mountain adventure destination!
While most of our sites are full hook-up, we have water/electric spots for a more rustic camping experience or for our tent campers. We also offer cabins in an array of sizes and with varied amenities, ensuring we have the perfect spot that meets each family or group’s needs.
When you arrive at your site or cabin, breathe in the serene beauty of the Pisgah National Forest, of which Spacious Skies Bear Den is a part. Leave your stress behind as you explore 13 miles of wooded hiking trails, some leading to waterfalls on the park grounds. Playgrounds, a rec hall, arcade, basketball, volleyball, and a swimming lake with a separate fishing area will keep campers of all ages occupied. A camp store stocked with necessities and treats alike, bathhouses, laundry on-site and WiFi all bring the comforts of home to your campsite.
We are proud to announce our partnership with [Black Folks Camp Too]() and are now the first “unity blaze certified” collection of private campgrounds!
Being Unity Blaze Certified confirms that all 15 of our campgrounds and our team are committed to making sure all campers know “You are Invited and Welcomed” — the Unity Blaze motto. While Spacious Skies has always firmly held this belief, we wanted to go one step further in partnering with BFCT to make sure all campground staff completed the Unity Blaze training program.

Beautiful camping cabins, wonderful staff, and clean restrooms! They have arcade games in a play area but these are typically out of order or take the money. That's ok, you're here to enjoy the gorgeous scenery! My second year visiting this campsite and will definitely return!
We had an amazing experience staying in the Mount Villa cabin. It was nestled into the campsite so we easily walked the trails and had access to the jumping pillow & camp store. The fall color was gorgeous. The cabin was clean with fresh linens/towels. The drive in on the Blue Ridge Parkway was breathtaking.
This was our second trip to Bear Den, we went last year for the first time, had such a great time we had to go back again this year. I couldn’t recommend this place enough, especially if you have kids. Bathrooms are clean and tidy! They have many different options for budget and comfort. We are going back every year from now on!
Great place for camping with little ones! You really don’t even need to leave the campground because they have everything you would need at the front entrance store. There’s water, electricity (bring extension cords and power outlets) and we used Christmas lights to light the campsite since we were tenting. If I could give it a 10 star I would! The only downside, if it’s even considered one, was the waterfall to the lake wasn’t on. We will be back next year!
My family and friends (12 of us) just stayed at Bear Den Spacious Skies for a week. We rented 4 pull through sites and a tent site. The group rate was very reasonable. We arrived after hours and the check in process was hassle free. During our stay, we took the kids to the bounce ballon but it was closed. We ran into the manager who listened to me vent about their hours and she was then gracious enough to turn it back on for a brief period of time so the kids could have fun. All of the campground employees were very nice and accommodating. Thank you for a wonderful experience and we will see you next year.
