Skidway Campground is located near the top of Deep Creek Canyon, off Highway #12. The campground location provides opportunities for nearby hiking and fishing.
From Townsend, MT, take US Rt. 12 east 21.4 miles to campground sign. Turn right at sign (mile marker 22) onto gravel road and go 0.6 miles to another campground sign. Turn right at sign into campground.
Clean and quiet. Sites are far enough apart you aren't on top of each other.
This is a nice camp ground, it's too bad that people can't take care of it and clean up after themselves.
Set far back and up the mountain. Road in wasn't too bad, just a few potholes.
Price is right for the site.
The sites are well marked, and the views from this campground are beautiful.
Vault toilet was as clean as could be expected.
Weeds had grown up around the potable water pump, but it wasn't hard to just walk through.
Can't wait for another camping trip here!
It’s all but abandoned. There’s no sign of any maintenance. Nature is doing a great job of taking it back. Roads are full of pot holes and at some areas trenches.
