Absolutely beautiful and peaceful campground with trees and shade and good hook ups. There are wonderful OHV and Jeep roads in the area, and it’s easy to get to both Helena and Bozeman from there.

We did not know details about the health mine until after we got there but we made use of it. And the water there is the most crystal clear cold clean delicious water you’ll ever drink! Veronica and Chan are wonderful people and we look forward to visiting again.

Peaceful and beautiful, Merry Widow was a nice place to spend a long weekend. The camp hosts were friendly, helpful and fun. The owners are kind and dedicated to helping others. We met many nice people! The campground was clean and tidy yet still a natural setting. There are shady areas or open areas to stay. As we headed out for home, the camp hosts were waving us good-bye... darn near made me tear up. We will definitely be back.

My husband and I work remotely from our trailer, this review is for our experience working at Merry Widow during the week.

Overall: 4 - would stay again: beautiful setting, great wifi/signal, low cost

Location: 4 - Peaceful setting next to the river. 30 minutes from Butte and Helena, went to Butte multiple times for dinner and the drive in. You’re right by the town of Basin which we drove through once but didn’t stop anywhere. Boulder is 10 minutes away if you need groceries and don’t want to drive to Butte - good selection.

Value for $: 5 - Sites are a good price for FHU along a river

Site (22 - FHU): 3 - Hookups on the wrong side, needed to park at an angle to reach. The second day, a new trailer came into the site next to us and couldn’t reach their hookups and asked us to switch ours - not a problem as ours reached either. When management came out to assist, they mentioned that we were taking up 2 sites as we were angled in order to reach the hookups, as we had discussed with the camp host when we arrived. We were parked between 21 and 23 and no other site was marked on the x camp map. We weren’t asked to move, it was just a strange interaction. Great water pressure.

Outdoor ambiance: 5 - spots backed up to the river, with a good space for hanging out by the fire pit and drown out any highway noise. Good space to make friends with your neighbor. If the electric only space between 21 and 22, if it had been occupied it would have been much too cramped.

Management: 4 - no issues but sometimes felt as if we were inconveniencing them.

Dog friendliness: 3 - all other campers were very friendly towards dogs and there is a lot of space to walk them but had to watch for broken glass around the property.

Wifi/cell: 5 - best cell service (5 bars AT&T) no issues with zoom calls or virtual machines. This is the only camp wifi (Starlink) that was useable for work.
