About Campground

Whether you're exploring the Rocky Mountain beauty of Montana or you're on a longer journey traveling throughout the West, the new Helena North KOA provides a convenient base camp. It lies just half a mile off I-15, with plenty of Pull-Thru RV sites for larger rigs. All RV sites have 30 or 50 amp service, along with a patio area and picnic table. In Helena, Montana's state capital, you can hop aboard the Last Chance Tour Train for an engaging open-air ride around the capitol grounds, through the mansion district and past a restored miner's village. About 10 miles north, boat tours take visitors up the Missouri River through a canyon of towering limestone walls - a historic route traveled by Lewis and Clark, who dubbed it the Gates of the Mountains. You'll find other spectacular mountain scenery to the north and south; Helena lies midway between Glacier and Yellowstone national parks.

Had a great overnight stay and the staff couldn’t have done more to help us out - so grateful! Full up but were able to accommodate our smaller RV which saved us looking elsewhere late in the evening. We were able to buy a couple of local beers in the well stocked shop and the guys let us use their gas fireplace which we loved. Truly appreciated the caring service and ability to fill up with water and dump our waste after a lot of state park camping. Our son really loved the games area and playing with other kids for an hour or so. Thanks guys!!

This is our 3rd night at the Helena North KOA. The campground is great, the staff are wonderful and the facilities are the nicest I’ve seen while camping. Our kids loved the outdoor games. Close to many hiking trails and shopping. We have really enjoyed our time here and would absolutely stay again.

Spent about 2 months here while in Helena. I have to say this campground was really great. The bathrooms were super clean, the sites were large and had a small yard that was well taken care of. The electrical hookups were in good condition as well as water and sewer connections. The Wi-Fi was super fast and never had any trouble connecting multiple devices at once. There are plenty of little activities to do on the warmer days and there are 2 decent size dog runs. The manager Bob was friendly as well as the staff Ty and Stan were friendly and extremely helpful. They really go out of their way to help you out if you need it. Only about 10 minutes from Helena. I highly recommend and would definitely stay here aging when I’m in the area.

Absolutely wonderful KOA. As this was just a pit stop on our way south, we opted for a premium pull-through site which includes comfy Adirondack chairs, a gas fire pit, and a gas bbq. We pulled in and all the work was done for us - sat around the fire, grilled supper, and headed to bed.

This campground has something for everyone - great tent sites, 2 dog “parks”, and fun areas for kids and adults.

Highly recommend this campground!
