From Dillon travel 19 miles south on Interstate 15. Take Highway 324 west for 12 miles to Grant, continue on Highway 324 for 10 miles, then turn west on Forest Road 3909 for 12 miles.
Beautiful place with great walking paths and interesting historical interpretive signs. A great place to stop rest relax, stretch your legs and just enjoy nature.
Great picnic area - nice facilities but huge horse and deer flies! Bring insect repellent!!!
We love this little picnic area. It's nice, and a little secluded, with the head waters of the Missouri river right there. There is even paved paths to use, and 2 outhouses. The only downside, and this is a small one, is that the maintenance for the paths have not been kept up by the forest service any more. I dont think it's in their budget and man power.
This was a beautiful, peaceful place with wonderful information about Sacajawea. It's also the headwaters of the Missouri River. There are wonderful views of the valley in Idaho and the valley in Montana. We went in June and there were so many wildflowers but not many tourists. It was an amazing experience.
