On the west side of Seeley Lake, this campground and picnic area has a stretch of beach that is a great place for playing in the water or people watching while you relax in the shade of the trees. The campground and picnic area are located where the Clearwater River and Seeley Lake meet.
In Seeley Lake, MT, at intersection of State Rt. 83 and Boy Scout Rd., take Boy Scout Rd. west 2 miles to campground sign. Turn right at sign to campground on left.
Came up for the fourth of july weekend, booked a site in February it very competitive for peak season in the seeley-swan. We get here sign says full reservation only, campground is deserted. People book long stays and either check in early or late or book the 16 night max, leave their camper in the site and go home and come back only for the weekend. Extremely frustrating as camping in this region is already hard enough to find and now the FS allows you to not occupy the site you reserve. State parks require you to occupy nightly as to not abuse the system and allows others a chance to camp that actually want to camp. Additionally at the state parks the hosts will notice when someone leaves early and allow walk ups for the nights available, here they leave the reserved tag up and turn people away from an unused empty site.
Seeley lake area is so beautiful! Nice campground. Picnic tables and fire pits.
