Yellow Bay-Flathead Lake State Park has 5 tent campsites that are first-come, first-serve.
Located 15 miles north of Polson on Montana 35. Milepost 17.
Beautiful campground with nice and shady camps. The park hosts are friendly and helpful. It's right on the lake and has several picnic benches located near the shore. Next door is the University of Montana Flathead Lake Biological Station, which has a really nice nature trail. I stayed in early June and I had the entire camp to myself. The campground itself is very clean and well maintained. There is minimal highway noise and I was able to sleep peacefully. There is a memorial rock work bridge near the boat ramp that is dedicated to the climbers who died in an avalanche on Mt. Cleveland in Glacier Park. I absolutely loved my stay here and l am looking forward to returning.
This is one of the clearest, most beautiful lakes I've ever been to. Definitely worth the stop on the way to Glacier National Park.
Had a great couple nights camping here right on the lake. No complaints at all😁. It's a little busy with boats during the day. But besides that, great spot and well taken care of by the staff
A very recent drive around Flathead Lake in Montana, had me astounded with the beauty and views I was experiencing. Multiple State Parks offer hiking, picnicking, camping and much more. The East side is cherry orchards and cabins, with a Sunset view.
Amazing campground with spectacular lake access. Quite camping in a beautiful setting!
I would highly recommend it!!!
No Hiker/Biker sights but it’s worth the price for the tent site.
