This is a small 6-site campground on Rainy Lake north of Seeley Lake. Sites 2-6 are walk-in only, and site 1 is an accessible RV site. Vehicles must stay on roads, and all sites are first come, first served. Rainy Lake, one of the Clearwater Chain of Lakes, [offers fishing](https://myfwp.mt.gov/fishMT/waterbody/43711) and space to canoe or kayak. Hiking is also available nearby.
From the town of Seeley Lake, Montana head North on MT-83 N toward Thelma for 12.2 miles. Turn left onto Rainy Lake Campground, Road FS RD #4357. [Rainy Lake Map](https://www.fs.fed.us/ivm/index.html?minx=-12650301&miny=5995208&maxx=-12638577&maxy=6000539&exploremenu=no)
Beautiful spot. I had site 5 with views of the lake. Arrived on a Thursday evening and had about 12 hours of pure bliss. And then Camp Cliche was erected upon Site 4. The advance party was only five people, but when the 12 or so kids were brought in, it was too late to move to another campground. It seems a University Youth Group decided it was a good idea to hold a Freshman Mixer at this, I would imagine most of the time, quiet little campground. If, per chance, you folks are reading this, I have some advice: Sell that ridiculous chainsaw y'all carted up there and pony up for a group camp site. It's what they are for. There you can freely giggle until midnight. You see, you have to consider those around you. Consider that the lone guy next door might be a veteran coming up there for some peace, to work through some things. Or maybe he isn't. You don't need to know for sure to consider something. You consider all by yourself. And if you can't bring yourself to do so, well that just makes you inconsiderate. And you just taught those 12 kids to be just that.
P.S. The worst bit was listening to y'all play mafia wrong for 45 minutes.
Nice, but more for tents. Camper could park in provided spot. Pit toilets clean. Lake short walk from most sites.
I've camped there for a lot of years it's now commercialized and nowhere near the cool place it used to be
This place was a dream. Me and 4 friends came out here and it was such a fun experience. There is a couple bars of service if that matters to you, but the water is nice an cold with the hot summer heat. Everything a about this trip was amazing. Campsites are first come, there is a bathroom provided by the forest service, benches at each campsite too, and if you bring an axe there are dozens of dead trees to chop up for free wood. I highly recommend coming here if you want a good camping experience. THIS IS BEAR COUNTRY. On our last day we did see a Grizzly at night. Be sure to pack your food an drinks in your vehicle
