Lived here in the late sixties and early seventies. Brought mom and dads ashes back and make a yearly trip back. My family fell in love with it and would rather come here than go to Disney land. This will always be home. Beautiful scenery and great fishing.

We have been there during the week on day trips with no problems. Once we went on a Friday night to find campsites full of campers with cars and trucks saving spaces for the rest of the party I assume. We may try to camp again during the week this summer. It is a long bumpy road in to see folks there. It reminded me of keg parties of my youth 45 years ago. I guess I got old.

UPDATE

My wife and I tried it again on a midweek camping trip with our old camper trailer in mid June 2021. We had a choice of 2 camp sites that were left. There was a big family gathering in every site looking over the reservoir. They had music, Jeeps, and a side by side with no exhaust on it running in and out to the nearby road/trail system. It was loud and not relaxing until my wife and I prayed, literally prayed for peace. then it was quiet for 2 days...until Friday morning when a couple with issues showed up so we left.

Fast forward to 7/26/2022. My wife passed away last fall and I have been trying to go places that she and I enjoyed. My brother inlaw wanted to camp and fish someplace, so I chose here. We arrived to campground at 11 pm. The only spot open was the same exact one I had last year. It was quiet and pretty peaceful. There was single campers in all spots but one. The campground spaces that overlook the reservoir with covered tables are built for gatherings of 15 people. It would be a great camping spot for 2 or 3 RVs.

We had a great 3 night camp out with very little background noises in the campground itself. The folks camping there were all really nice and well mannered. I may even try to go again.

My husband and I came by this hidden gem, it's a beautiful place to get away from the rest of the crazy world and get back to nature. Love this place.
