Rose, camphost, is absolutely amazing! I give her 5 stars for going above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. Her husband Tom, and Rose work really hard to keep this campground clean and quiet. Unfortunately, disbursed camping guests disrespect camp boundaries and speed through to use restrooms and dump trash. Once weekend was over and people cleared out, it was really quiet and peaceful.
Very nice camp host couple. Great rates. Great shade in the midst of huge pine trees.
Fairly nice campground. We were in site #1 and it was nice to be able to hear the creek running not far from the campsite.
One negative to our time there was that a LOT of people who were camping across the road kept making several trips up and down the road into the campgrounds to use the toilets even though the toilets are supposed to be for campers on the Dog Creek campground only. There were some who made the trip on foot, but most of the time they would be riding ATVs up and down the road--sometimes with 6 or 7 people on one ATV. Nothing too major, but would be an annoyance to not be able to get into the toilet for a while during their pilgrimages back and forth.
Nice, quiet campground with very clean pit toilet bathrooms. We enjoyed the sound of Dog Creek from Site 001. Wish there were trails to the creek instead of having to pick your way through the ferns, hoping to not crush them!!
Only downside is the river is too far away (across the highway, really no good access within easy walking distance). And right now their water system is down (boo!), but we came prepared so it didn’t bother us much. Overall an enjoyable stay!
Super friendly hosts and very clean bathroom. Little bit uneven at site 6, but rain runs right off.
