Been coming here since I can remember. My parents even before that. It was our favorite swimming and fishing hole back in the day. kind of a secret private place back then. Could spend a whole week there and not see anyone.I'm happy to see the Forestry Department has maintained it well. Lot busier now, but still has its particular charm.

Oh my God this place was so beautiful so amazing it was on real I finally found my home and Idaho and it is beautiful just on the way to McCall from Boise here as this beautiful place stop pullover check it out the river is amazing the sounds are amazing everything about it is just absolutely beautiful it has been such a pleasure to be able to leave the city and find such a close beautiful escape to nature Pristina gorgeous white sand on the side of a roaring river with class 4 and some level 5 Rapids this area is very peaceful good for a small soak putting your feet and the cool water campgrounds have burning pits and are beautiful very clean public outdoor restroom on B leave abbly rates huge fan of nature this place is clean and wonderful although it might be right next to a highway the water is so loud it drowns it out and it's a lower level so you really don't hear the cars at all there are nice metal with plastic guarded benches very comfortable and beautiful clean area camping is close but not too close to other areas I would highly suggest this place if you need to stop for the night and camp it is definitely upper class and I am loving it Idaho is so beautiful don't follow the Yelp posts that say it's boring and one star don't ask people they won't tell you where to go follow a good local guide and U of find your path in nature keep nurturing it keep it clean PG13 and love life

Highway 55 was snow covered and slick. No access to river right now best to just drive by unless you are caught in bad conditions or just need sleep, which both happened to me last night. Good place to rest up thoigh

Visited this campground with my family last weekend. Great little spot with a cozy little beach, and huge eddy that you can wade out into pretty much the middle of the river. Spot was empty when we got there and we were grateful! The restroom is right next door and was pretty clean and not smelly. Fun place to hang out, swim, and even fish. We saw a crawdad walking around in the eddy, pretty cool! I give this 4 stars and not 5 even though it deserves a full 5 only because the campground manager lady came down to us asking us to make others feel more welcome to use the beach. We had just 3 chairs and a cooler on the beach and would’ve been more than happy to move to one side and allow other folks space if they would’ve asked. It’s a small beach and will fit two families at the most. She didn’t make us feel very welcome and asked questions about where our car was parked, whether in the campground or off the road. Luckily we’d parked on the side of the road so we weren’t caught off guard there, but overall felt like she was watching our every move. I’m grateful to campground management for all the work they put into cleaning the grounds and restroom and keeping it in good shape. But I feel like there’s sometimes way too much intrusion and interrogation to sit by a beach!

Beautiful beach area along the river with picinic table and grill a few feet away. Sitting there with your feet in the sand watching the river flow swiftly by carrying an occasional kyaker, you get lost. All the worries get swept up by the white waters and disappear. Don't be surprised if you have loatman hour or two when you return to reality. The surroundings are gorgeous, with colors so fresh and vivid. The greens of the trees and bushes stand out against the tan, red, grey, mand black sand, and it is all wrapped around the cool fresh blues in the river. It's a must see/feel stop! Not to mention when traveling highway 55, you are going to welcome every opportunity to pull off for a breath and to let the person behind you, that is so obviously in a big hurry, go around you! Don't worry though because there's a sherrif along there who will not turn his head to traffic violators, so chances are you will see that rushed follower again just up the road being given a lesson in following the rules of operating a motor vehicle. Its a beautiful drive along the river if someone else has the task of manuevering around the corners along the narrow highway. Which is why I give it 4 stars and not 5!
