Nestled in a col between two 4,000-foot peaks, Mizpah Spring Hut is just a short distance from the fabled Crawford Path. Visit this lovely spot in the boreal forest, and explore the southern peaks of the Presidential Range. Or make this a memorable stop on your travels north through the heart of the highest range in New Hampshire.
Friendly staff. Beautiful lodging. We were glad to be kept out of the rain.
Stuffed shells dinner from 2 nights prior was clearly blended into a tomato soup and re-served to us. We suspect our enchiladas will be pureed and reserved as chili in following nights.
Too expensive for sub-par, re-purpoused food and no sheets provided.
Hiked to Mizpah in summer of 2003 with my wife. I took 3 bottles of red wine to enjoy along with our meal, gave two to the staff. To say they were appreciative is an understatement. Wish my legs, knees etc were good enough to hike there again.
This hut is very cool. Not so many views unless you are on the nearby summit. If you ever do the hike make sure to go to Mount Jackson which is not far out of the way and has stunning views and the Gray Jays on top of the mountain eat from your hand.
The AMC huts never disappoint. Even though they were short staffed, during my visit, dinner and breakfast were awesome and they still kept every engaged and happy. This was my first time in this hut and I would say it is one of the better when you compare how it was configured. It even has a library. I highly recommend hiking up and paying them a visit.
Stopped in during a beautiful hike day. Didn’t stay but for a snack and coffee. But it’s such a neat place! The staff was really friendly and kind.
