A muddy mess and mismanaged! Cheap and barely functioning electrical connections. Pass it by and go to the national park instead.
We tried but no one would answer the phone. No one was onsite when we got there. Probably for the best as the place is barely habitable.
If you want real camping. Like tent camping not RV Hotel on Wheels camping. They actually have both options here. One side has good power for the RV people. The other half is something that does look like an RV graveyard they are placed where they were when they were living there and it's like people just forgot about him. At first it's a little spooky especially if you arrive at dusk like I did but we were literally the only ones there and we wanted privacy! The sound of the animals day and night is absolutely amazing. Pat the owner is a very nice lady! She had three bottles of water sitting out for our arrival after hours. She also went to some spoons and forks because this was a last minute camping idea. We will return again and again. There is a canoe behind one of the abandoned RVs if you ask Pat she probably wouldn't mind if you used it. Just make sure you put it back where you found it :-) she will also loan you a couple life preservers. Camping is not for the complainers. I would disregard all the negative reviews you see here. It's tucked off and nestled between a lake and a pond. The lake and pond have a lot of Lily Pad growth and lotus flowers here and there. You might not be able to swim in the lake without pushing through the lily pads first. You could go for a swim in the pond and I saw a huge salmon swimming there! Be careful there is a rope that used to tie off the shallow end. It is pretty much submerged now. The shallow end of the pond is near the T intersection :-) the deep end is where the pond comes close to the lake across a narrow Drive. If you want to rough it I suggest you do the tent camping and tell Pat you want to be where there are no people :-) we went for a walk in the morning and we saw a baby deer just sitting in the sun at the top of a hill. It was really a cool experience! We also saw other animals including a woodpecker that followed us around and a beaver! Tons of chipmunks. Make sure you bring the bug spray!
We entered at 11:00 pm, planning to camp in a tent. The place was seemingly devoid of people. RVs and cars littered the barely-present path, and we didn't dare get out of the car. The RVs and cars were mostly overgrown, but in oddly good condition. One such RV had its door ripped off, but was still decorated on the inside, and its associated cars had been completely absorbed by the surrounding foliage. This is where RVs, cars, and if instincts are to be trusted, people, go to die.
