The price was nice and didn't kill the pocket book. The place could use cleaning up, especially the shower house/bathroom. I had to use the men's. But we would stay again, we can rough it. Had neighbors show up while we were out sight seeing and they helped themselves to our chairs, lighter fluid, Weiner sticks.. wasn't like the spot looked abandoned. We did exchange some words to the effect of....always ask fbefors you borrow people's things.
1st vacation in over 15 years and I chose Miners Campung to stay at. I loved it there!!! It’s quite, peaceful,& very close to the Crater of Diamonds. The people who stay there on a more permanent basis are friendly. The staff I talked to were friendly as well. I would definitely stay here again. Love ❤️
We had a good time. I think the upkeep of cleanliness could be better but that's kind of up to the customers as well. We brought a toddler and two teens and tent camped. Miss Susan Martin you truly made us feel so welcome! Thanks for teaching us some new things about anything from life to digging!! The shower house is better than other camps I've stayed in🙂 only thing I didn't like was that it's a dry county 😅
Booked late so my son and I could go to Crater of Diamonds State Park. Very close to park is a plus. We camped one night in a tent. That was fine. If you are looking for anything else, stay away. Bathroom was filthy and smelled like mold. No lock on the one toilet in men’s room. No working light except in shower so you have to leave door open to see. Shower was nasty too. I skipped a shower and used bathroom at state park while I was there. Not recommend. Next time I will plan earlier and get a better place.
No staff in the office, no one really to welcome us, we were left to defend for ourselves. Overall I think past negative reviews are possibly not accurate, the cabin was cozy and a place to lay your head. It was a little primitive and run down, but what do you expect when you’re camping, hopefully not the Ritz Carlton. I would stay here again.
