The park is located 8 miles south of Lapeer, 20 miles southeast of Flint. From M-24, take Pratt Rd west 2 miles to Herd Rd approximately 1 mile to park entrance.
2 campground areas. Descriptions little off for the sites. Great for swimming for the day or camping for several days. Nice new campstore. We've used the trails before but not recently because the mosquitoes are horrible. Great for kayaking and hanging out with family.
Visited for the day and had a great time. Campground is huge and offers tons of ammenities. Campsites were spacious, had multiple bathroom options, and a small store for any basics you forget. A large group has space for several activities throughout the park. Beach was nice, but the sand was basically clay, so an umbrella was difficult to stake in. Good wading area for the littles and kayaks available to rent.
Metamora-Hadley is one of our favorite campgrounds in SE Michigan. Ive been camping here since I was kid and now I have gotten to bring my kids here. The park boasts beautiful, wooded campsites clean bathrooms, and plenty of recreational activities, including hiking trails, biking, swimming, boat rentals, fishing and more! Also, when it rains, the drainage is very good so the campsites dry up quick. Kid and dog friendly, but also a good adult getaway. Definitely recommend for a beautiful respite outdoors!
Childhood nostalgia unlocked! What a fantastic hiking trail. Highly recommend to take the entire family for this serene hike. Beautiful park even in the winter! Go explore ✨️dog friendly too 🐾
